The Benefits of Walnut for Heart and Piles

The walnut is a wonder fruit having several health benefits to the people of all ages.

The kernel of the walnut contains fiber, vitamin B6, antioxidants, calcium, iron, zinc, poly or monounsaturated and unsaturated fatty acids,carbohydrates, and amino acids providing proteins.

Some of the health benefits of walnuts are as follows

1. The Chinese traditionally keep a pair of walnut in the hands for blood circulation.

2. It is good for mind and memory and strengthens the muscles of the heart.

3. It is beneficial for healthy gums and teeth. The chewing of bark kills the bacteria of the mouth.

4. The antioxidants present in it, fight against cancer cells and inhibit the growth of tumor.

5. The extract of the bark of walnut kills the worms of intestines and acts as an antiseptic to help in healing of wounds.

6. The walnut also helps in digestion and is also good for diabetics.

7. The hormone released from it are good for insomnia.

8. The intake of the ash of burnt outer rind of walnut fruit mixed with 20 gm of molasses or jaggery or solid brown sugar in equal amounts is good for premature ejeculation. 

9. The application of a swab of walnut oil is helpful in piles.

The Corn Removes Wrinkles and Strengthens the Bones and the Heart

The corn or maize has several health benefits. The oil of corn contains linoleic acid and it helps to remove the skin wrinkles. The grains of corn are very benefoicial for overall health. The intake of corn has the following benefits.

The rich amounts of vitamin C, bio-flavonoids, caratanoid, and fiber present in corn help to control the cholesterol and helps in cardias problems. It also removes the blockage from the arteries of the and makes the heart healthy and strong. It reduces the levels of bad cholesterol and regulates the blood flow.

The antioxidants and flavonoids present in cholesterol reduce the risls of cancer. Corn contains facilic acid which reduces the size of the tumor present in breast and liver.

The intake of corn retards the growth of wrinkles due to the presence of vitamin A, vitamin C and antioxidants in it. It contains anti-oxidants that help in lasting youthfulness of the skin. The starch of corn makes the skin soft and saves it from rashes and itching inflammations too.

It strengthens the bones and helps in osteoporosis, as its yellow seeds contain plenty of magnesium, iron, copper and phosphorous. It reduces the chances of breaking of bones in old age. It is advisable to take it for longer duration.

The presence of beta carotene and vitamin A makes corn the best food for reducing different problems of eyes.

Corn is the best source of energy due to the presence of rich amounts of calories in it.

The rich amounts of fiber in corn help the body to remove waste products from colon and excreta.

It contains enough fiber and helps in digestion. It is best for constipation, piles, or peptic ulcers. Boil the raw corn in water and take the filtered extract for urine inflammation. It also strengthens the kidneys and helps in their normal functioning.


The deficiency of iron causes anemia and the corn replenishes the deficiency and corn is a good source of iron. It contains vitamin B and folic acid which helps in anemia. The intake of boiled corn removes the deficiency of blood. The intake of corn is very beneficial in pregnancy due to the presence of folic acid and vitamin B in it.

Corn Oil
Grind the milky raw seeds of corn and keep the glass container in sunlight. The milk will vaporize and the oil would be left behind. Filter the extract and use the oil for massage as it strengthens the bones and muscles especially of toddlers.

Jamun or syzygium cumini for Diabetes

1. The Fruits of Jamun

Jamun is an evergreen tropical tree and is called syzygium cumini in scientific parlor. It is sometimes called as blackberry but the latter is a different fruit belonging to different family. It is found in India and the south East Asian countries. It is a very popular fruit in India and it is not very costly.

A 100 gram of fruit contains 62 K Calories, 1.2mg iron, 15mg of calcium and phosphorus each, 18mg vitamin C, 48 microgram carotene, 55mg potassium and 25mg magnesium and sodium each.  It is a rich source in vitamin A and vitamin B too.

The growth of this ornamental tree is very slow and can reach up to 30 meters in height. It can live for more than a century, its dense foliage provides shade and its wood is hard and water resistant.
Its young leaves are pink which later become dark green with yellow midrib having turpentine like aroma and used as fodder for its nutritive value.
The flowering begins in March and the large oblong berries like fruits develop in June. The fruits are green which mature into pink to shining crimson black.  Some variants produce white fruits. The flavor of the fruit is a combination of astringent, sweet and little sour. It colors the tongue purple.

The fruit increases the hemoglobin and is used in anemia.
The intake of fruit imparts extra glow to the skin.
The fruit is best for vitiligo or the white spots on skin.
The fruit is best for the type II diabetes.  The leaf, bark and seeds are used to control blood pressure and diabetes in traditional medicines. The blood glucose level gets reduced by the intake of fruit pulp or seed or bark extract. Oral intake of dry extract of the seeds is very effective in reducing the levels of blood sugar.

The intake of salt sprinkled fruits gives benefits in diarrhea, stool bleeding and dysentery.

The juice of fruits is very effective in mouth ulcers.

Due to its anti-cancer qualities, the fruit is beneficial in radiations and chemotherapy.
The leaves and bark control gingivitis.
The ripe fruit is beneficial in kidney stones. The intake of the powder of seeds with curd reduces the kidney stones.
The fruit helps in constipation and strengthens the lever.
The powder of the seeds is used to help in digestion and to strengthen the gut in the Chinese system of medicines.
In arthritis the tropical application of extract of the bark alleviates the pain.
The fruit is used to make wine and vinegar.
